Karina Burkhanova

Violin

Karina Burkhanova, Russian violinist, is a graduate of the Rimsky Korsakov State Conservatory, St. Petersburg. She quickly gained international recognition at prestigious competitions such as the International Violin Competition of M.G. Erdenko and the National Competition of Young Violinists “Magic Bow”. As a soloist, orchestra and chamber music member, she has appeared with the Symphony Orchestra of Udmurt Republic, the Chamber orchestra of St. Petersburg conservatory, The St. Petersburg Chamber Philharmonic and The Baltic Youth Philharmonic. Her musical interests include not only classical, but pop and rock as well, and she regularly appears on stage performing her own electro/acoustic music that blends genres. 


She has toured extensively, performing at Usedom Music Festival (Germany), Dresden Music Festival, Schumann Festival (Düsseldorf), XI International Conservatory Week Festival (Saint-Petersburg), Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival (Germany), XVI Young Talents Of The Tchaikovsky Homeland Festival (Izhevsk, Votkinsk), Merano Music Festival (Italy), Arvo Pärt Festival(Estonia), Young Euro Classic (Berlin), Wall-to-Wall Behind the Wall Music marathons (New York), The 55th Venice Biennale, and Operetta Castle Kaunas (Lithuania).
